Our Hatch Story
Seed Street Toys hatched in 2019, with the mission to provide safety-focused, high-quality enrichment to companion parrots so that they may engage in natural and healthy behaviors, without their parronts worrying about their wellbeing.
For two years prior to starting Seed Street Toys, I was working in an Avian hospital run by Dr. Brian Speer. Too frequently, I saw birds coming in with commercial toy-related injuries that would have been completely preventable had the toys used different hardware or materials.
Lucky for me, I had a flock of my own, ready and eager to test and help me iterate on all of my toy prototypes and designs.

We're really big on safety, integrity, innovation, responsibility, fun, and kindness.
Every toy is constructed by hand with your parrot's safety and enjoyment in mind. And before any toys are given the OK to ship off to their new home, they are carefully inspected for design and construction imperfections.
Only the best toys pass the quality assurance inspection and go out to your own bird(s). You're paying for quality, so you'll get perfection.
In case you're new to Seed Street...

Secret's out - Seed Street is actually run by 18 birds in a trenchcoat*.

Only The Best
Because we place such a prominent focus on both your bird's safety and fun with each and every one of our toys, it's only right that we only use the best materials and components in each of our designs.
Every single component within our toys is bird-safe, so you never have to worry about them accidentally ingesting something that could harm them. We stay away from metals in our toys to eliminate any risk of metal poisoning and instead gravitate toward paper and natural items that allow them to shred, forage, and destroy to their hearts' content. Some of our products also use reusable plastic items, such as the deli containers used for Super Lavender Haze and plastic c-links to hang toys.

Remembering Grouch
Grouch came to me in 2017 right after I had lost my first ever green cheek conure, Mimi. I was devastated and I hadn't been planning on getting another bird so soon, but I saw this little green man at a local rescue. This bird, who had refused to interact with anyone else, hopped right up on my shoulder and snuggled into my hair.
Something I had been looking forward to with Mimi was making her an Oscar the Grouch Halloween costume, but she was gone before I had the chance. Turns out, the little bird that hopped on me and snuggled right into my hair was named Grouch. And I took him home.
I did make him an Oscar the Grouch Halloween costume that year, and I made him a Halloween costume every year after. He was not your typical green cheek, and he was such a good sport with my miniature shenanigans.
In November 2024, at 22 years old, he was diagnosed with liver cancer. Then on December 27, 2024, we had to say goodbye as he flew across the rainbow bridge.
Grouch Pouch Devine, an absolute soulmate. I will celebrate his life for the rest of mine, and keep his legacy alive through my work.
